Five years of quick-firing, high-octane comedy - all without a script! EQD is an improv comedy group, taking audience suggestions and transforming them into all-new, all-fresh comedy in an instant.

Until 2007, EQD has performed weekly entertainment at various venues around Groningen, the Netherlands. Today, we are available for private shows, student parties, meetings - or any occasion that calls for a light touch of humor!

Winter City

Have you been to Groningen's delightful Winter City festival yet? Ice skating and warm chocolate (with whipped cream!) are great warm ups for comedy. Look out for our live performance in het IJscafe on December 20, 20:30-21.30. Here's an excerpt from their website:

Michael Caine (Matt) on the left, goes into showdown with Arnold Schwarzenegger (Rob) on The Big, the Bad and the Ugly.

Welcome to the newest addition of EQD: Matt Le Loux. Matt adds a pinch of Cockney to the group, showing us the working-class side of comedy.
Abandoned at birth and raised by a loving family of muskrats, Matt's childhood gave him an obsessive liking of badly reinforced canal banks and all medium-sized vermin (except lemurs). Read more...

Dr Phil to Depressed Ugly Woman: "You need to stop eating cookies."

Here's a toast to Rob Sanders! On October 24th, Rob had his farewell show before leaving to join the army. His great job at EQD was greatly appreciated, capping a two year's worth of shows with an inspired song about inflatable dolls. We have a question though: with all his antics and craziness, is he really geschikt for the army? Or would he end up as this guy?

Comedy night at Kult

Groningen's world of comedy gets richer with the introduction of Comedy Night at the gezellig cafe Kult in Steentilstraat. The event is held on Friday October the 27th, 21:00.
EQD hosts the show, which begins with a sneak preview of EQD's improv comedy and is followed by three Dutch stand-up comedians.

Yesterday's EQD big show for the KEI-week was a monster night! The audience was totally packed from the back and overflowing onto the stage. That show featured George Bush creating a time paradox, confrontation at a sushi bar and a double agent working for Osama, but remember: no two shows are ever the same. Watch all-new, all-fresh improv when the season begins on September 12.

EQD went out with style! With the house packed with a hundred people, the last show of the summer was a blast. We thank you, the Audience, for another great season. Don't miss out on EQD's Super Special on July 11! For the last show of the summer, we're giving out a grand show by bringing back old EQD members and special guest performers House of Mangoes, and Amsterdam's Boom Chicago. Keep a lookout for EQD during the Kiezel. The Kiezel is the "little brother" of the KEI introduction week, produced by several student organizations in Groningen on 13-15 February. Lolu and Mo sang about shoes and their fungus-repelling benefits on the season-end special.

After a short Christmas break, EQD is back with our all fresh, all never-been-done-before improvised comedy shows. Starting from January 17, we perform almost every wednesdays at our regular venue, the Huis de Beurs. Check out the dates of the next shows.

The prodigal son returns! Updated profile on Barcelona-based EQD cast member Jan Bruin. Born to offend and awe, Jan Bruin was often caught using profanity from his buggy in public libraries. Jan a.k.a. Tony Two Dip Tortilla, is blessed with a fast tongue and a mouth big enough to fit a small melon. eqd is four years old

It was the summer of 2002 when (then) Prince Mo thought of creating a tribe of improvisers. A sketch/improv comedy show, never been done before in Groningen? Who would ever watch such a show? But backed by the words of Dalai Kevin Costner's "if you build it, they will come", EQD was established. They lived on through adversities, traversing dark alleys, wrestling Irishmen at Sally O'Brien's, doing rituals at secret student fraternities, travelling to remote farmlands and now sharing cups of coffee at the Comedy Cafe, celebrating a 4 year anniversary.

KEI week

Welcome to all first-year students! EQD greets them by performing a double show on Groningen's introduction week, the KEI-week. The first show was on Sep 19, 7:30 p.m at Huis de Beurs and the second at 10 p.m. at the student fraternity Dionysus. The shows include a diary of a lumberjack, the improbable mission of buying an apple from the moon, and a tribute song to the microwave oven. Guest performance from Boom Chicago's Lolu Ajayi.

EQD returns with all-new, all-hilarous improv comedy shows! EQD shows are unlike regular comedy shows, because you are in the driver's seat. The show is completely improvised and every action is spontaneous. You are participating in the show by shouting out all kinds of suggestions to keep us on our toes. It all adds up to one and a half hour of sheer entertainment that's always fresh and exciting every time.
