mo ajayi
All hail to the King Mo! Mo was raised in the coldest and unforgiving world of them all. The world of comedy. Armed with a history of comedy, Mo brings veteran leadership and much-needed street cred to EQD. Mo established EQD in the fall of 2002 and as the founding father, playwright, and art director, he is responsible for most of the sketches and improv games. Mo was born in Nigeria. He moved to the UK and, obviously, ended up in the beautiful city of Groningen. Mo spends most of his time as a journalist and the rest on EQD. When he's not rehearsing, you can find him in the library where he's reading all the books on comedy or writing new material for EQD. jan bruin
Born to offend and awe, Jan Bruin was often caught using profanity from his buggy in public libraries. Jan a.k.a. Tony Two Dip Tortilla, is blessed with a fast tongue and a mouth big enough to fit a small melon. Improv (in the person of Mo) saved his life by allowing him to exert his sick jokes in a non-professional environment. Jan grew up on the dangerous streets of Groningen, living the soft-knock life while dodging non-existent bullets. He spent the first years of his education trying to turn every class into a comedy show. Although his classmates always returned for the next show, the teachers simply decided to boo him offstage and out of the class. Later on he thought he could use his annoyingness well in the courtroom, so he tried to study law. When he found out that he would have to read books without pictures in them, he switched to International Communication. matthijs le loux
Abandoned at birth and raised by a loving family of muskrats, Matt's childhood gave him an obsessive liking of badly reinforced canal banks and all medium-sized vermin (except lemurs). Captured by slavers while tunnelling, Matt was put to work on a wharf, his talent for biting sarcasm used to cut portholes into hulls. He was often beaten vigorously. Aided by a band of gypsy musicians, he eventually escaped under cover of night and sought refuge in Groningen's seedy underbelly. He started studying history at the RUG -- chances to distort the past being a nice bonus on the twisted road to the written media. All was well, until his friends told him that jokes about their mothers having sores on their vulvas were even less funny the third time around. Matt put himself under the spiritual guidance of the EQD gurus to find a way to channel his anger at the world into games in which someone imitates a bell by saying 'Ding!' or where the audience gets to shout 'Porn!' whenever asked for a suggestion. aree witoelar
A hard-core improv fan, Aree's life takes a turn as he stumbled into Groningen's secret improv cult. Mistaken as Chinese by his countrymen, as Japanese by a Chinese and as Turkish by a German, his mysterious ethnicity survived the gauntlet of improvisation and propelled him onto the stage. Aree came from somewhere in Asia. He moved to Groningen four years ago to explore the world of science. However, his vain attempts at the physics Nobel prize are derailed and now he does computers. He's absolutely convinced that comedy can be broken down to a science. A self-proclaimed nerd, you would have a better chance to catch him in a chess club than on the dance floor. rob sanders
An entertainer at heart, Rob Sanders drew laughter from children until he found the dirtier world of improv to be more catering to his tastes. Rob a.k.a. Ah-nold Schwarzenegger, is one energetic and crazy improviser, and blessed with long Jesus-like golden locks, he was our spiritual leader. Now that he has cut it for the army, we're all lost souls. Rob is Dutch, although that is questionable by the way he resents beer. He comes from the desolate planes of Oost-Groningen where he crowned himself "King of Ter-Apel". As far as we know, they accepted him as that. Rob did some theatre in Groningen when he was younger with the NNT and his plan was to go to Amsterdam to study Drama there. Until he found out that he wanted to become a history teacher. He kept doing comedy with children at campings where he would appear dressed up as a weirdish clown to amuse the children. He quit studying history and tried out many more studies. Then there was EQD, being one of the constant funs in his hectic life. After much deliberation, Rob decided that the life expectancy of comedians was too short. He promptly got an honorable discharge from EQD, and enrolled in the Dutch army where he now works 9 to 5. home | shows | guestbook | what's improv | cast | scenes All Materials Copyright © 2006 EQD info@eqdcomedy.com
